Lynn Green Secretary, Newsletter & Website Editor I went to secondary school in Tonbridge. After University I lived in London for a number of years and moved to South Tonbridge 12 years ago, later joined by my husband and our now 2 year old daughter. I work as a content manager at a professional services firm in London. I’ve been a member of STWI since the beginning, am an original book group member and sing in the choir. I love and am proud of both our WI and our town and can be frequently spotted at local events! STWI is a fantastic community and I’ve met and become friends with wonderful women. I’m very excited about joining the committee and making this another successful and fun packed year.

Amy Constant Vice President & Membership Coordinator I've been involved with STWI since the introductory meeting at the beginning. Membership of this vibrant group has offered me new friendships and an opportunity to learn about a vast range of topics that I never even knew I didn't know anything about! When I'm not at WI meetings, I'm a busy Mum of two boys and a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist working in South East London. I've lived in Tonbridge for most of my life with a few adventures elsewhere but returning to this friendly town where my own family now have strong roots.

Tracy Hunsley Sub Group Coordinator I moved to Tonbridge just over 3 years ago and joined STWI as I wanted to meet people locally and hopefully learn some new skills. With the variety of topics at monthly meetings and a great group of people, I’ve really enjoyed being a member and want to contribute to the continuing success as part of the committee this year. When I’m not at work in London, I enjoy being outside walking or running (slowly!), baking, reading and eating out. Since STWI started I’ve helped to organise the walking group which has enabled me to get to know other people with similar interests and enjoy exploring the local area.

Karen Wison Treasurer I joined our WI when it started 3 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed all the activities but most importantly it has been great getting to meet lots of local people and a fantastic way to make new friends. During the daytime I work at St Thomas' Hospital in London as the Lead nurse for cardiovascular research, a job I love. You will often hear me singing which is another hobby of mine and I have been a member of the Tonbridge rock choir for the past 8 years. For the past year I have been the vice treasurer on the committee this role trying to learn as much from Lesley as I can before I take over the role as Treasurer for the next year. Hopefully my organisational skills and the experience gained in the last 2 years on the committee will help to make the next year a great success.

Mary Peterson Meeting Coordinator I’m Mary and I have lived in Tonbridge for the last 9 years. I work in Human Resources for a law firm in London. I was part of the first STWI Committee and met some great friends as a result. I stepped down when I had my daughter, Eloise, as I found the first year of motherhood pretty all consuming (mainly due to the lack of sleep!). She’s now nearly two and I am ready to get involved again in a group that I feel passionate about and that has made a real difference to my life here in Tonbridge.

Ros Larner Vice Treasurer I’m Tonbridge born and bred – although moved away for a few years up to Leeds and then London. Since moving back in 2014 I’ve loved being part of the community and getting to meet lots of lovely new people. I’ve been a member of WI since it first started – I didn’t know anyone when I joined but have since made some great friends and am really excited to be part of the committee this year. I’m Mum to a 5 year old boy and a 2 year old girl so they keep me busy and in the last 2 years I’ve started running – starting with WI support at parkrun (where I mainly walked) and recently completing a 10k and a sprint triathalon. I love trying new things, baking (badly), drinking (mainly gin or wine) and meeting new people.

Committee members are expected to attend both the committee and members' meetings, help with finding and booking speakers, be in touch with our members regularly and also help with organising fundraising and other events. All committee members stand down and are re-elected each year at our Annual Meeting in May.

However, you don't need to be on the committee to play a role in organising and running South Tonbridge WI. There are lots of opportunities to get involved, including sharing your skills and knowledge, helping to set up side groups and organising fundraising events and activities. If you are a member who is interested in getting involved in this way, get in touch via the Contact Us page.
