London Procession

PROCESSIONS EVENTS
We have signed up to take part in the PROCESSIONS event in London on 10th June (time TBA), where women and girls meet up with other women across the country to mark the anniversary of women’s suffrage. We can make and take along banners and pennants, in addition to our STWI banner. This is expected to be a large scale meet-up with individuals given a green, purple or white tabard/vest and organised into sections to create a large artwork in the colour theme of the old suffragette banners. If interested in attending please sign up at the meeting.

We will also get a chance to look at New Dawn (the artwork commemorating the long campaign for women to have the right to vote). Unfortunately, the 25 free places offered to us have been taken up. If you would like to go, please email the Public Affairs group, where we will either add you to a waiting list or arrange another visit. Women Walk The World - time to be confirmed

Each year, people worldwide celebrate the Associated Country Women of the World’s (ACWW) international network by joining together to Walk the World on 29thApril. The aim of this walk is to raise awareness of the ACWW, promote and fundraise. We will walk approx 2hrs (4 miles) from East Farleigh Station to Maidstone Museum. If you are unable to join us on the walk but would like to contribute, you can either sponsor our walking group or make a voluntary donation.

At the end of the walk, we will have a bite to eat and visit the West Kent Federation Centenary Exhibition. If you don’t want to walk, you can join us at the museum cafe at 12md.
